4:44am! I always thought, for whatever reason, that seeing a number like that (or 3:33am/pm, or 11:11am/pm, etc.) was good luck, and I always made a wish....not that I did just now. Kind of random, to be honest.

In any case, another morning has begun. I never really explained about the name of this blog. Originally, it was called 'Tales of the Golden Droid', which is the name of this...well, I don't really know what you'd call this, but it's a box that has C-3P0's face on it, and it says 'Tales...' underneath. I changed it to The Matarese Circle because that's my favourite book! Authored by Robert Ludlum, I think it's the most entertaining novel that deals with spies. I hear they're making it into a movie, with Denzel Washington attached to play Brandon Scofield. I don't mind this, even though Scofield isn't black, in the novel. Denzel Washington is a quality actor, and probably one of my more favourites, so...he'll do the role justice, I think.

But, going back to books...those are one of the groups of things in the world that gives me great pleasure. I've been reading since the age of 2 and a half, and I love it. If I couldn't read, I think a part of me (if not myself entirely) would just die. In any case, I've read many, many books over the course of my life, and my room is like a private library. It strikes me that while no one will read this blog, it'd be a fun pasttime to review novels....which I do anyway, just not in 'public'. I used brackets there, because really, while this will be in public, like I said, no one is going to read this. It'll be for my benefit, and mine alone...or any friends who may visit this site, however unlikely. Therefore, I think the new use of this blog will be to review books, and the occasional video game, if I have the inclination (which, seeing as how I also love video games, I most definitely will have said inclination) to do so.

It's only fitting that we start with none other than 'The Matarese Circle', and so the next blog post shall concern that. Scofield and Taleniekov ftw!

Do blog posts need a title? I dunno, I guess we'll find out at the end of this one.

In any case, it's 5:18AM, and I just ate breakfast. Early to bed, early to rise, and all that good stuff. To be quite honest, I never really found blogs an attraction, and as such, I don't really expect anyone to read this one. I just like to write, so maybe I'll post an occasional short story or plot thingy here, in addition to my jumbled thoughts.

One of my favourite things to do, as I was doing today, is to imagine myself playing pro sports. I *do* play basketball with my friends every so often during the week, and football is a summer thing, but to actually play a sport at the professional level would be pretty nice (I should add, when I say 'football', I mean 'american football', not 'soccer'). Today, for instance, I was playing Madden NFL 10, and I was the Patriots, slapping around a Jay Cutler-less Bronco team. Seriously, it was almost sad, because they're now a team with a rating of 70...while the Patriots are a team with a rating of 93. A side note, the Patriots are my favourite team, and have been for a long time...woo for avoiding the bandwagon!

In any case, I had this pseudo-daydream where, once the ball was hiked, I ran around the defense, caught a bullet pass from Tom Brady, and then ran the length of the field, dodging every member of the opposite team to score a touchdown. Of course, this was the play that won us the Super Bowl (lol), and I was lauded for it. Man, dreams like those are so sweet.

Sports dreams are often the coolest, because you can imagine yourself playing with starts such as Brady, or Kobe, or LBJ, or god-knows-who. One day, and that day might not be any time soon, I'm going to be able to dunk on a standard basketball net. I can already ALMOST touch the rim, at my current height/vertical jump, so I suppose after a year or so of practice, I'll be able to. (Note: I have no idea if practice can actually improve your hops, lol, but I'll be damned if I'm not going to try!)
